"The expansion of the railway infrastructure to the main Polish ports in Gdańsk and Gdynia is progressing according to schedule."

The investment worth over PLN 2.6 billion is going to be ready by the end of 2021. The PKP PLK project "Improvement of the railway access infrastructure to the port of Gdańsk" assumes, among others reconstruction of over 70 km of tracks, 13 rail-road crossings and pedestrian crossings, and replacement of 221 turnouts.
Engineering facilities will be rebuilt: 3 bridges, 2 viaducts and 18 culverts. As part of the investment "Improving rail access to the seaport in Gdynia", 115 km of tracks will be rebuilt and access to the port gates will be electrified.
The reconstruction will also include 13 km of roads, a railway bridge and 2 rail-road crossings. Communication will be facilitated, among others construction of two railway viaducts. Investments of PKP Polskie Linie Kolejowe at the gates of the Tri-City ports mean faster transport of more goods. Longer and heavier, even 740-meter long freight trains will be able to reach them. Thanks to the new devices of the railway traffic control system, cargo transportation will be more efficient and safer. This project also has a great influence for the reduction of Co2 emissions.
