"From now on we can avoid intermediaries between us and the carriers. This will have a direct impact on response times and price levels."
What is PISiL / PIFFA?
PIFFA stands for the Polish International Freight Forwarders Association. PIFFA is a national member of the International Federation of Freight Forwarders Association "FIATA". The organisation is also a member of the European Forwarding and Logistics Organisation CLECAT.
It operates as a self-governing organisation on the territory of the Republic of Poland. Association of entrepreneurs conducting business activity in the field of international and domestic forwarding services, logistics, transport, customs agencies and other services related to the turnover of goods.
There are several committees and working groups that help their members in the fields of shipping, road, rail and air transport, customs, ethics and finance. Members can use official documents, participate in groups and obtain the international 'FIATA Diploma in Freight Forwarding'.
Branch manager Maciej Banaszek appreciates the importance of this membership:
"Our aim is to provide our customers with a tailored, flexible and seamless service at a competitive price. With our membership and association, we are one step ahead as it allows us to issue FIATA HBLs ourselves and work directly with the airlines. This means that from now on we can avoid intermediaries between us and the carriers or airlines. This will have a direct impact on response times and price levels."
What does it mean to be associated with IATA Cass?
Cargo Account Settlement Systems (CASS) aims to simplify billing and settlement between airlines and freight forwarders. It works through the CASSlink programme, which is an advanced, global, web-enabled e-billing solution.
The CASS system is part of the International Air Transport Association (IATA). It is a trade association of the world's airlines, representing approximately 290 airlines or 82% of total air traffic. They support many areas of aviation operations and help formulate industry policy on critical aviation issues. CASS supports streamlined invoicing and is essentially a neutral billing office.
Sales manager Lukasz Lasa explains what this means for MOL Logistics' customers:
"From now on we can start working directly with all airlines present in Poland. What this means for our customers is that we can fix the surface and long-term stakes for individual projects and support our customers to a greater extent in their global supply chains. We are very pleased that MOL Logistics Poland has reached the next level in our service portfolio. Our customers benefit from the most reliable and stable airfreight service. "
