In 2018, the decision was taken to build an external port in Gdynia. The construction of the port is to be completed by 2028, the investment will cost more than EUR 1.5 billion.
The aim of building the outer harbour is to enable the harbour to handle ocean-going vessels with Baltmax parameters, i.e. up to 430 metres in length, 60 metres in width and a draught of up to 15.5 metres.
